Souvenir Posters for the Theatre
The brief was to create “artistic souvenir posters” for a number of plays showing at Cambridge Arts Theatre. Each poster needed to celebrate each play and be a piece of art that an audience member would proudly buy, take home and hang on their wall.
The design solution
The solution was to focus on physcial techniques, such as collage and paper cutting that would push the boundaries of what is expected of a poster, avoiding any reliance on Photoshop. There is no digital type in any of these posters, only hand lettering, which gave each design a more personal touch.
