Magic Realism Book Cover Series

The brief was to create a book cover series for a collection of Magic Realism Novels.

(This project is part of my Final Major Project for my MA in Graphic Design and Typography.)

The design solution 

It was important that I established a style that would be appropriate for each narrative. I chose to use collage to create imagery that depicted the thing of “magic” in each novel. I wanted the typography to interact with the image in some way, whilst also permitting the image space to breath. In response to this, I chose to have the type frame the image.
